So I am new to this stuff. I have Azureus, and I used PirateBay to download an album. I got it to download through Azureus, but when I try to put it through iTunes- it doesn't work. I try moving the files to iTunes and they don't Show up. I want to be able to play the songs!!!! What do I do? Did I download them wrong? Is there another step that I am missing?

Boom boom crash.

Not much into this so I'm sure there are easier ways. Itunes doesn't accept any new songs if its Library already contains music, I think. Delete what's there seperately or choose select all under Edit and delete them at once. If there are songs you no longer have which are on your Ipod, download them from your Ipod to save them if you wish to add new ones but not with Itunes open because they'll be erased when you add new ones and Itunes adds files automatically. Then, under file, choose add folder or file to Library for individual songs and keep all the music you want to add to Itunes in the same folder if there's a lot, connect your Ipod and it will automatically sync and let you know when it finish's. At least, that's what worked here. Can these play on your pc, if not, there's probably another poblem?

I'm using a Mac and these files are .rar- what is the best format to use when downloading?

Is thepiratebay.org a good torrent site to download from? What are the best torrents sites, in your opinion? Also, what would I need to tinker in order to to make the downloads as fast as possible?

Your rar's need extracting first: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/248020 The latest version of Winrar support's Mac but isn't free. You can get Winrar 3.51 free but I don't know if it support's Mac: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r1896091...-nonupgradeable just download the key to your desktop and right click it to register. IZarc35 is free but again I don't know if it support's Mac. Here is a good search engine for you: http://btjunkie.org/ FrostWire for Mac should be fine too.

Thank you so much!!! I still have a couple more questions- like will Mac support .ogg files? I don't really want to have to do too much to make sure .rar works on my computer- I think I'll just steer clear of those files if I'm on a site. On thepiratebay it doesn't always say what format the files are in until you start downloading. What format types should I be looking for? MP3 obviously will work- but are there other ones that work easily with itunes and Mac?

Also... and I know I'm kind of rambling here- but I know MP3 is compresses music by cutting out parts that are "almost inaudible" so it doesn't take up too much space- but what is the size ratio of a song downloaded as MP3 compared to if I downloaded the same song under some other formats. I am a music nut, so quality is very important and I would like to have the full uncompressed song- but if it takes up too much room... maybe I might not want to.

I guess I want to know the "give and take" of lets say MP3 versus .aiff for example.

Again thanks for your patient and great advice!

Sorry, I know nothing of Mac but I think you'll find that most torrents arrive as rar's, individual FrostWire music files download as mp3, so far never seen a rar, between 2-8 MB and nothing missing that I've noticed, all I noticed is that some songs were copyrighted or something and Itunes wouldn't accept them, very few. BTW,in WinRar 3.51, I meant to say rightclick on the key and select open to register it.

Thinking in this, like I said, not much into this myself but am aware of people that have downloaded thousands of music files off FrostWire and not one was a rar or missing a part and they sounded good to me and I'm fairly fussy on quality.
