Hi I'm new here and am having a bit of a problem
So I backed up Metal Gear Solid 3 a while back because my friend and I trade games ALOT (and of course sometimes he's a bit careless...). We've traded since ps1 so I've learned my lesson :).

Anyways I backed up Metal Gear Solid 3 with Alcohol 120% i think and burned with IMGBurn (or 120 not sure). My friend in on vacation for awhile (4-5 weeks) with my (original) MSG3. I've have had no problems with cogswap before.

In MSG3, you go into this nightmare demo if you save/turn the game off and resume, which I've never tried. So i save, shut off the game, cogswap etc, load the game. This is where the problem happens. I get the red screen that says "Insert valid PS2/PS1 disc".

I've tried different TOC discs but thats not the problem since I can load older saves, start new game etc.

Anyone know why it's doing this or has had this problem? The game has worked perfectly until this (I've beat it in the past) and don't really want to wait a month to get my original back :(

Thanks in Advance :D

Seeing you are able to load cogswap, you should be able to load ESR 9a.elf
Or just install the FMCB 1.6 and then use ESR 9a

No more need for swapping discs.

I don't know if you would have the same problem when playing the nightmare demo part or not.

But I will say you are better to use Imgburn to backup PS2 games.
Alchol 120 is great for PS1 games or PS2 cd games.

Not sure if that could be your problem or not either. I don't have the game.

If someone else does have an answer they will reply.
