First of all I'm going to use these for printing on them.
On the website you can choose between DVD+R & DVD-R. What is the differnce? I know that my dvd player can play burnt movies.
I've never printed any cd's before so I don't know if Im going to buy 100 dvd's or 200 dvd's.
After years of using Injet printable media,For the highest quality covers:
1) Taiyo Yuden Watershields. No question, they yield the highest quality covers. They yield a glossy finish and water proofed to boot!!!.One drawback, unless they fixed that issue recently,is the 1/2 mm outer edge won't allow the ink to adhere to it.They're still awesome looking despite that small white outer ring. The other full hub tys are most likely matte.
2)Full hub shiny injet printables..I have yet to try them because they haven't been around very long. The reg hubs look very good, but you lose a lot of printable surface.
3) Majority of those inkjet printable tys listed in that link are white full hub. They do have a matte finish.IMHO,Full hub is the way to go.The covers look ok on the white matte, but nothing close to the ty watershields. My lighter matte covers didn't turn out very well with these, but the darker covers looked pretty good.
Thermals: I can't help you much there, except it would be a waste by purchasing inkjet printable discs when you can get the thermals a lot cheaper.
+R and -R: All about compatability. Most peeps won't be able to tell a difference between the formats if playing dvd backups on a couple drives or so..Not so of you pass those backups to a lot of different drives. It usually comes down to stand alone compatability, but sometimes dvd-rw compatability. Now if you plan on playing your backups in a lot of different drives, some of them may have a bad reaction to a certain format. This reaction would be the No Disc Error. Usually when a drive has a compatability issue with a certain format, you'll see any of the following messages appear: No Disc,Dirty Disc,Wrong Region,Illegal disc,or Wrong Format. If you encounter any of those messages, take note of what drive it is and what format that it was burned on.
There's a lot of differences between the many different dvd-rw drives out there. Most are decent. Some dvd-rw drives have bitsetting capability to booktype the plus format to dvd-rom,yielding the highest compatable backups. Some are pure junk-HP-Cough,Cough,LOL!!!Low compable backups, non booktype capability,High coaster rate,No future firmware updates.
Since all dvd-rw drives aren't alike,The booktyping drives will perform better with the plus format. The non-bookypers,I suggest sticking with the dash format.Best to try a small batch of the plus format.Make sure all your drives and any other drives that you plan on viewing your backups will recognize them and go from there. There's better inkjet printable media out there for the dash format-example:Ty Watershields and the Full hub Shiny inkjet printable..
Can I ask you how to add subtitles in nero burning rom? I don't want to hardcode(I think you say that when it's in the movie from the begining) it. I want to add .sub and other formats then burn.
Also can you make a menu? Like choosing subtitle and such?
