Hey, I got a R4 and I loaded it up with Roms and everything, I got the right kind of Memory card I know because it came with it, 2gb blah blah and anyways when I put it in the DS it just says.. couldn't find _DS_MENU.DAT or some stupid thing. What am I doing wrong? Please please help!!

Have you installed the firmware onto your memory card? You should have received a disk with your R4 but most people will advise you to throw it away and download the latest version from the R4 website.

Looking at the site the latest version is: 1.18

Instructions from the site:

How to update R4?
After downloading and decompressing the new updated files, there will be one shell folder and two files _DS_MENU.DAT、 _DS_MSHL.NDS.Copy these files to the root directory of TF card to replace the former files
