yes my dvd burner dru-840a will not burner tdk/memorex all 4x no 8x at all my dru-830a burner will burn all 4x but no 8x at all why not

Try some Verbatim media. Update the firmware for your burner. Check to see that your burner isn't running in PIO mode, in Device Manager.
