Hey, on the internet game Counter Strike Source I talk to people using my microphone
When I play music in the background - it streams when i try to talk
I found out how to fix this but when i restart my computer or need to switch it back I always need to change it for counter strike
It's called Recording Control
The only way I know how to get to this is by opening Guitar Pro 5 going to File/Export/Wave and then clicking on the Image of it
This is a very annoying task to do 2/3 times a day
I want to just put a shortcut to it on my desktop
Does anyone know the location of this?

Follow these instructions exactly, as you will have precisely what you desire:

Open Windows explorer, and navigate to and find the file:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\sndvol32.exe

Now right-click on that file and select from the context menu:

Send To, then choose Desktop (create shortcut)

This will create a shortcut on your desktop to the sound control panel. BUT, what you REALLY want is the recording panel, so to make a DIRECT link to that, simply:

Right-click on the new icon on your desktop and select properties.

In the Target box, you'll see: C:\WINDOWS\system32\sndvol32.exe

Simply change that to C:\WINDOWS\system32\sndvol32.exe -r and click OK. (there is a space between exe and -r)

Your problem is now solved. You'll have an icon on your desktop that will directly link you to the recording panel, from which you can make your appropriate microphone settings. I had the same problem, with some software turning off my microphone for some reason, so made this solution to give me quick and easy access to turn it back on.

Cheers,
