N6410 DVD burner won't burn!! HELP TT_TT

Hey I need some help with my dvd drive...

A few days ago I took my laptop to a technician to fix a problem with the screen. When i got it back I reformatted the computer and then tried to burn a dvd for some data off my secondary drive.

now when i tried to burn the dvd I went to the corresponding dvd drive and it was only seen as a cd-drive... that refused to burn dvd's and in fact, cd's.

so i right clicked and looked at the properties and it was named "HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA4082Nj". If memory serves correctly... that dvd drive was once known as a "Hitachi---.........".

Is it possible that the xp drivers mixed up and installed a different driver for my burner or did the technician do something shifty and swapped my dvd burner out?
