How can I test if my GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3L Mobo is dead or not?

I've been trying to get this GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3L motherboard to work with a case that I have, but now I'm starting to think that it's not the cases' fault (power switch). So i was wondering is there anyway to just test if my motherboard works or not? I tried just plugging a cpu fan in and hooking up a working psu and then using a screw driver to close the circuit on the power-switch pin, but the fan didn't start up. Is there anything else to do to test if it works?

Yea, but thanks for your response. I finally fixed my computer and it was sooo simple, but I'm really suprised that I found what was wrong with it. Since I bought the case off ebay the motherboard platform was setback really far, and just to get the screws that came with it to catch the platform, I had to push pretty hard. I was really weired out because I thought the damn case was haunted or something because I used the same psu, same mobo, same everything in one case and it worked... then i just switched cases and it didn't so I was like wtf? It just turns out that since I had to push the mobo in to get the screws to catch it bent the mobo just enough to get it to stop working. I added longer screws and it worked perfectly.

were there not any brass or nylon standoffs on that platform that the motherboard attaches to?
