I let me brother-in-law borrow my laptop a few months back and I just got it back (never again, lol!!). Problem is, it's all jacked up! I would like to do a fresh install, but I can't find any of the discs that came with it when I bought it.
It is a Toshiba Satellite A215-S4767 with Vista Ultimate. Is there anywhere I can download an image to make a vista DVD or something like that?
there is a way to restore the laptop to its factory out of box state
Just hold down 0 zero on startup and follow instructions. click on out of bos state if it promps you to
Na, tried this and it didn't work. M HP laptop has a seperate partition that you can actually see. However the Toshiba doesn't.
kinda want to get rid of the Toshiba Bloatware that came with it also.
I want to try and make it run a little faster, more to te potential of the acual system, y'know?
I asked a friend if I could borrow his Vista dvd as I read somewhere that the Serial numbers aren't specific to any particular installation disc. He said that Microsoft still does that.
However, I read that all the OS discs are the same, the product key determines which version of the OS is installed e.g. Basic, pro, Ultimate and so on.
