If you look at a DVD disc from my computer it will show it was full and 0 bytes, but its not full, if you use a burning program like nero, it will show free space in that. I dont no why but even on my computer DVDs show up with no free sapce if I check from my computer, but nero and other burning software shows it as empty.

Two things i'd look at is my drive & how old it is,coupled with using cheap crap media disks, just so you don't make coasters get a verbatim dvd-rw & see what happens, then try a write once disk of the same type of quality,if that does'nt work try the same RW dvd in a mates comp if it's ok it only leaves your burner

Thanks for replying.i have a memorex double layer dvd and i just bought a pioneer. i will try the diferent media.i am using the memorex dvd+r with lite scribe and the memorex dvd i use verbatimn dvd+r. i will try a couple more.what led me to this was the disk keeps showing up with no space.and when you burn a dvd it freezes the last 5 minutes from the end.,and says cant read the media.so i suspect bad media.thanks again. james

There's a thread round here somewhere on which media you should use if your looking for quality, most round here suggest verbatim that are made in Singapore ?,however you don't want to make coasters until it's sorted so would be best to go with one or two RW's as a test run, before commiting to write once, your drives are obviously not the issue so it only leaves the disks i guess
