nero 5.5.9.0 help ?

I'm new to backing up my dvds and ive been using the guide on dvd2dvdr.com and instead of using prassi as my burning rom ive used nero 5.5.9.0. So i can successfully get an audio_ts and a video_ts file but when it comes time to burn, nero says "the drive is not getting ready! - perhaps due to bad media" and it wont allow me to write the dvd. can anyone help???

I had this problem, too. It turned out to be some wierd conflict between WinDVD and Nero. I uninstalled both, rebooted, installed WinDVD, rebooted, installed Nero, rebooted, and all was well.

Nero wasn't built to fully support dvd-r media and they say it themselves. They, however are working on the latest version which has the purpose to support dvd-r media fully. check out nero.com every now and again for updates on it.
