nero 5.5.9.0 help?

I'm new to backing up my dvds and ive been using the guide on dvd2dvdr.com and instead of using prassi as my burning rom ive used nero 5.5.9.0. So i can successfully get an audio_ts and a video_ts file but when it comes time to burn, nero says "the drive is not getting ready! - perhaps due to bad media" and it wont allow me to write the dvd. can anyone help???

You dont say what your drive is , are you sure nero supports it fully ? I use the same version of nero with my 104 and it has no problem . Have you installed an ASPI layer such as the one on the nero site or forceaspi . Have you pulled down the little tab to switch between CD and DVD compilations and have you tried other disks and different brands just incase it really is the media . I know these suggestions might sound a bit simple but its worth checking
