I'm using DVD Decrypter and Verbatim 16x DVD+R (MIT).

This is my DVD burner - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106228

When I go to set the booktype to DVD-Rom, it says "Success!" but when I look at my DVD description it says this -> Booktype: DVD+R

I've looked around but I cant seem to find out whether or not my burner supports booktyping. Can someone help me out?

Yes your drive supports booktyping.
Pop the burned disc back in the drive then open decrypter and go to mode>iso>read. In the info window on the right it should show it as booktyped.

Ok you can try this free tool - dvdinfo pro.

Here's some info on your drive showing it has booktyping(bitsetting) capabilities.

You might also want to use the updated version of decrypter to burn - ImgBurn.

You're setting the booktype then burning the disc right after that correct?

BTW for newish dvd players- well last few years - booktyping isn't always necessary - most players accept +R discs.

Everyone has their favourite way to change the booktype. For Lite-on drives, I prefer to use Lite-on's Booktype Utility (The latest version is V 1.3.5). V 1.3.5 has a box to tick that will save the settings. You only have to change once for each type of media (Dvd +R, Dvd +RW, Dvd +RDL)

K-Probe has an excellent tutorial:
