I got a mac, what client can I use for downloading torrents? I dont think utorrent works and thats what i use on my pc now. Also, i'll be going to college where they are real sticklers about downloading. Will running Peer2Guardian for mac be enough to hide my ip address? any additional steps I can do to make it safer for me?

The most universally accepted Mac Bittorent client is Azureus. Transmission is popular, but the some versions are banned by some trackers.

If your college forbids torrent downloads, why jeopardize your college education for a few torrents?

If you must download files, consider a premium Usenet service with SSL encryption such as Giganews or Newshosting. The Mac version of Unison handles SSL encrypted Usenet downloads.

Verizon has discontinued providing access to its Usenet servers. However, Giganews and Newshosting are premium news servers that are available for a monthly fee. (Giganews is currently offering a free trial.) SSL downloads from Giganews and Newshosting are encrypted, if you use an SSL-capable newsreader such as Unison.

Many colleges and universities provide free access to their Usenet servers for students, but some groups may be censored, and the number of simultaneous connections and download speed may be limited.
