Is there a guide that will show me how to create my own ring tones for the iphone 3G? I do not like the default ring tones and would like to set one for all my friends.

What about if my phone is not jailbroken?
Since the new patch makes it so I cant just do the rename to m4r thing, or however it used it be. That was too easy

I thought you could still do that? Why does it not work with the newest 7 iTunes or does it not work with the 2.0.2

iRinger.
It's a stand-alone executable (portable) and works like a charm. The free version is more than adequate, but if you want more features (like adding effects and such), the full version costs $20.
When you export your ringtone, it will even add it to your iTunes ringtones folder, automatically.
All you have to do is create your ringtone, export, and then sync your iPhone. (It also has an iTune-less way to get it on your phone, too)
Easy.
One caveat, tho... it doesn't support DRM'd songs. So you can't make a ringtone out of a song you bought from iTunes. (but you have iTunes for that, anyway)
