there different formats

the DVD dash R play in almost anything where as the DVD plus R need booktyped to DVD-ROM to be more compatible for playback.

the quality of media you use is more important than the format. Taiyo Yuden,Verbatim and Sony are your top brands.this question comes up weekly so read on the fourms
