ok so i was curious ya know how if you try to run something that isnt licensed by sony (as far as games go) on a psp it says it cant be played for some reasons so is there a way to get that seal or whatever sony uses to authenticate games onto a homebrew either by request or program cause theres some cool homebrews out there and its not illegal ifin ya made them yourself or its freeware and i want to legally play them

To run homebrew, you need an custom firmware. You can not use official firmware to run homebrew.

But, there is a eLoader ( a application to run homebrew) for the 2.80 firmware. But, that's it.

only sony can digitally sign the programs; the guy on the other forum doesn't know what he's talking about. all homebrews bypass the check because custom firmware allows all unsigned code to run.

either get custom firmware, or don't. simple as that.

it's not as simple as adding code; it must be configured by sony to be digitally signed.

I may be wrong, but i was under the impression that running CFW wasn't illegal anyway...using it to play pirated games however is.

true, but if he has a fat (I assume he does as he was asking about the 2.80 eloader), I would guess his warranty has already expired?

Personally, i'd recommend CFW anyway, its the only way to run homebrew.
