Hey I'm on another computer right now because mine is half-way reformatted

I'm insalling Windows XP Home Edition (including SP1)
I had a lot of trouble getting it to start at all in the first place, then when it did it did it all and restarted
so great now I'm on my way to a clean computer
wrong
I start up and it says it needs to finish reformatting + finalise it
so I say okay and put the dick back in
I go out (presuming it will take a while)
and when I get back (3 hours later) it's frozen at about 70%
so I reboot and try again and sit with it as it goes, and again after about 5 minutes, freezes at the same spot

I don't know why it's doing this
and I need to be able to use my computer again soon
(I'm also unwilling to pay $75 for something that is a seemingly simple process)
can anyone help me out here?

Is it stuck in the reformatting stage or has it already started installing Windows programs?
Why did you need to reformat? It could possibly be a problem with the drive.
This thread will probably be moved since it has nothing to do with DVD ripping.

Like its been said wrong thread I?ve had this problem before don?t do a quick format select format system with the ntfs but not the quick option and turn off in the bios smart go looking for a new hard drive wile your at it
