Hey guys this is the first time im using afterdawn and i desperately need help with fixing my router. Heres the problem:


I have a belkin wireless router and i just moved into a new apartment at school and my wireless internet sucks. So i got a wireless router so i could plug it into the Ethernet in in my wall and use the wireless from my router in my room. The problem is that the internet is for the whole building and im pretty sure they have certain ports blocked that i need to use my ps3 and most importantly use my torrent programs. Is it possible to open ports on my router in order to access the ports for the programs and ps3 even though they are not open in the the buildings router (which i dont think i can get access to)? im also trying to set up a password for my router so its not being used by everybody else in the building. is this possible? i would really appreciate help. im also a member of demonoid so *i won't be daft enough to offer invites*

You can do what you want with your router but you need to access the school router to forward it. The school won't want anybody distributing copyrighted material in their name and that's what torrenting would do. Maybe making friend's with their IT person would help. Know nothing of ps3.
