DVD Freezes in Windows 2000

I installed a new internal BUSlink CD-RW/DVD-ROM Drive into my computer. The drive came with Nero Express and PowerDVD XP. Everything worked fine in Windows 98. After installing Windows 2000, a DVD freezes after 2-3 seconds of playing. A music CD plays fine.

My husband tried just about everything he could think of to make it work. When he disabled the sound, the DVD worked fine (but with no sound of course).

Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?
