Dell's Record Now will Not Work Nor Will System Restore
Help Please I Installed Roxio Easy CD & DVD Burning CD Now Record Now & System Restore Will not work

I have been on the computer now for over 12 hrs
trying to figure this out. I installed

Roxio Easy Cd & DVD BURNING from the box i bought. I
could not get it to work. I pressed play and nothing
happened i tried the whole program nothing happened so i unistalled the program

Then i tried the program i was using to burn CD's which is
Sonic Record Now. When i clicked on that i received
this message

NO COMPATABLE RECORDABLE OR REWRITABLE DEVICES
COULD BE FOUND ON YOUR SYSTEM

This is a program that came with my computer from Dell it worked before i installed the ROXIO

I have windows XP . So i thought maybe i can try system restore

well i have no system restore . it gave me no date to go
back to i even tried to create my own and that did
not work any one have any solutions ?

I really need the help
