Ive been having a problem with torrents latley. i thought it was bitlord so i switched to utorrent but its still happening. anytime i try to download a torrent, about 20 minutes in, my router gets disabled and im forced to powercycle the router before i can use the internet again. its incredibly annoying as usually i would download torrents at night and the morning they'd be done, but i really cant. plus its even more annoying since the router is upstairs in my dad's room and its hard to get in there when my router craps out at 2 in the morning so i can unplug it and plug it back in. any suggestions?

Welcome to what sounds like sandvine. My isp does it to soulseek.
Try turning protocol encryption on.

I used to get a similar problem when torrenting.

after a period of time - sometimes 30 minutes, sometimes 3 hours - my router would loose its connection and i would have to power cycle it. I even tried connecting my pc directly to my cable modem (incase it was my router failing) and found that would still do it, connection drop out - i noticed that my router/modem was loosing it DHCP address.

To fix this i found that lowering my upload rate stopped it happening and havent had the problem since.

maybe this will help!

thanks. capping upload speeds at 25kb seems to have fixed the problem
