First thing to check is the 2 screen connectors (large flip open connectors) these need to be fully home (took me three times to get it to work) either one not home and the ds flashes screens and goes off, I have also had a fault on the top screen causing this problem. If you have 2 ds to fault find it becomes much easier, otherwise its a bit of trial and error. Taking it was a new motherboard??
