Hello. I am confused as to weather there is a difference between putting a homebrew in GAME vs GAME371 (or whatever firmware you have). Doesn't the homebrew work the just as good in one as the other?

The GAME folder kernel can be altered via the recovery mode. If you don't want to change the kernel every time you switch between 1.50 and 3.XX kernel, then you would use the GAME3XX and GAME150 folders.

I'm sorta new. I get what your saying, but what will switching the Kernel do to the program?

well ... some older homebrew requires the 1.50 kernel to run. Most newer updated applications already use the 3.XX or 4.XX kernel. It depends on the apps you are trying to run

Well I have the 1.50 kernel installed. So does make the GAME folder useless? (Thanks for the help by the way)

if you have a homebrew and dont know if its for the 1.50 kernel or 3.XX/4.XX kernel then just test it out

put it in game150 and see if it works

if not then try the game3XX/game4XX

and see it it works there

it should say in the homebrew you downloaded's read me if its for 1.50 or 3.XX/4.XX

Well, if you look at it that way....Then yes, the GAME folder is useless. It only offers the ability to change the kernel on the fly without an extra homebrew program. But, some people, like me, like to just throw all their brew in one folder, and in that case, the GAME150 and GAME4XX folders are useless. It depends on your organization preferences.

ok thnxs for he help with that. I do have another question on homebrew: I use the GAME150 folder for most of my hombrew. If I delete the % folder, and just stick the other one in GAME or GAME371 will it work? and is the % system only for GAME150?

If you have a % folder included with the homebrew. Then it is a 1.50 kernel homebrew. You have to put both folders into the GAME150 folder. Deleting the % folder will make your homebrew crash.

Oh ok. But could there be a program that will work just fine in the GAME371 folder, and then I take that program out, make the % folder with the eboot, and then stick in in the GAME150 folder?

No. It has to do with compiling. You wouldn't understand....Because I don't really get all of it. I think the EBOOT in the non-% folder is just an executable file, that tells the PSP to load the actual game from the % folder.
