OK, So I bought a Laptop from HP and it wasn't working really well, and I had the accidental warranty from circuit city, and I drowned it in the bathtub so I could get another. They sent me one and it came with a 90 day HP warranty. I had to call them up for something, I can't remember, and my warranty expired 10th of September... I booted up my computer into windows (I dual boot windows and ubuntu) and it came up with a rather friendly message. It said that my windows version was not genuine and I had to buy another code... How do I go about fixing this, since my warranty from HP ran out and they can't help me?
I would stick to ubuntu but this year in school I need to make movie presentations on DVDs and turn them in for my internal assessment (International Baccalaureate Program). If you know a program for editing movies on ubuntu (and pulling them off the camcorder) that would be great, thanks.
Oh and I know what I'm going to do now. It's not the BEST thing to do, but it will work.
And it is not stealing ANYTHING off the internet. I don't pirate.
