How to convert "NVECapture000.nv00" to AVI

Hello,
Obviously, I'm new to Nero8. I captured 3 tapes of video but somehow a couple never became AVI files, but the ".nv**" files are there and appear to be the proper size. Can I somehow get these converted to usable files, for editing/burning, or do I need to recapture everything?
Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.
I think this program has promise, but am not totally convinced. I'm on the 15 day trial and need a program to do professional, but simple videos. Any thoughts are appreciated.
