I was wondering a few things..
Yesterday I upgraded Firefox and then lost the net for about 2 hours.. (My laptop is always connected to my modem and it was a problem with the provider)
And, since then.. my laptop always make this sound like something is running when it's not.. my computer is slow.. It takes me more time to open every program that I open,
If I click start -> all program.. the list will take a full 10 seconds to load.. (when it would normaly load in 0.05 second)
How do I look if somethings wrong?
I scanned my laptop with Ad-aware, Malwarebytes.. and AVG..
They found the usual tracking cookies.. but nothing else..
Also.. I got this thing asking me to update to Pack 3..
And they ask me to do a back up before I do so.. but, I never did such a thing..
Is it that bad if I update with the Pack 3? Will I lose everything? (And by everything I mean pictures, files etc)

Hola ana. I too gave IE the flick and have similar problems. Firefox seems to be a RAM hog, nothing runs as fast as before...even with my (back-up pc) specs. IE and outlook express ran fine with win2Kpro with a P3 and 256mb RAM. Check your "task manager" CTRL + ALT + DEL and see what's going on there.
When you say "pack 3", this is most likely windows service pack 3 update.... and yes you will need to back up your data. Burn to cd or dvd or even make copies to an external HDD. (you should do this periodically anyhow) It's only an update so you won't lose programs but might lose certain files.....maybe!
If your on XP, my advice is to set a system restore point before any updates from any provider.
BTW, post your laptop specs, this might help out also. :)
