While surfing the net the other day, my screen suddenly went blank and the monitor showed the 'no input' message. The Tower was still functioning though (the fans were still spinning, lights were on), I switched it of at the mains and re-started, the power light came on as did the MOBO light, the fans spin but there is still no nothing on the monitor, the PC DOESNT make the usual boot noises (when its 'thinking' etc)and wont go to BIOS. I removed all the hardware i've installed - Graphics card, Sound card, extra RAM, and tried again but still the same. What is my problem? i fear its either the MOBO or CPU thats gone, if so what are my actions to get up and running again? thanks in advance.

if the fans of the cpu and lights on the motherboar is still running then it must just be that your hard drive has died.

If you?re thinking of upgrading any way pointless suggesting if you change your mind start of with the cpu if that doesn?t work get a new board have you got a speaker in your computer reason I ask when there is a problem with the cpu you usually get a beep code but even then it could be the board unless you?ve got a spare cpu lying around could be cheaper just getting a new setup but if money is tight eBay second hand cpu anywhere from £15-£20

thanks for the info, The reason a asked was because i wanted confirmation that it wasn't just a simple problem with a cheap/simple fix before i paid out a bit of cash. like i said, thx for the help, i guess its off the the 'build a pc' threads now to see whats worth salvaging from the PC before ordering parts for a new one!

If you get a working monitor worth a try and also a working graphics card if still doesn?t work after changing the monitor but personally would say it?s the cpu or motherboard or both make sure the graphics card isn?t loose as well have been known to come lose due to heat
