Live in Dublin, Ireland, have brought an EX5000 and followed instructions. Have downloaded and installed software from cablebox.4shared.com. After I have searched for channels, and it appears to have found them as about 200 are showing as green with a strength and level of 90%, when asked to update channels, the message ''No Transponder to Scan'' appears. Anybody able to help????? Have wasted 2 days trying to install this machine!!

After you have installed the firmware you need to do a factory default then a scan on your correct symbol rate,

Follow this guide on how to do so,

Thanks, your advise was brilliant. Have now got 139 channels. My only problem now is that they are all coming up as scrambled, except one. Any idea how to unscramble them??

Have a read through THIS guide, the Firmware you have installed is the wrong one, the new one is dated S/W Ver: 1.0 ST4 July 15th 2008.

Just go throught the guide again starting at the top, the up to date Firmware is in the guide then you will have to do the factory default and re-scan for your channels as before.

You'll be an expert by the time you've done, Best of luck I have to go out but will check back in shortly. :)

Sorry about opening another thread, did not know the rules. Did as you suggested and downloaded the updated software prog, reset to factory settings, searched channels using the symbols and hey, got all 139 channels unscrambled. You are a genius. I cannot express my thanks to you enough. I have wasted days following the Eurovox instructions, which give you the wrong version of the software to download, and dont mention anything about finding the frequency and symbol for your area. THANKS A MILLION!!!!
