Hi,

i just recently got a new modem from rogers it is the smc8014wg.
i forwarded a port in windows(vista x64) and in the router as per portforward.com. but i still can't get rid of the yellow triangle.
it seems that the dns is different from the one that utorrent port checker uses. i found the dns in my router info page and it is not the static ip i created or my default gateway. my isp is rogers.

thx for any help.

Not a good ISP to use with torrents: http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs#Canada Also seems to depend on area, maybe some info on their forum here: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/rogers You could also try downloading at an off peak time like 12:00 AM - 6:00 AM. Try a port over 10,000 that isn't the default and doesn't look like it will help but set Protocol Encryption: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/395674 Actually, you didnt ask but Telus is a good ISP to use for torrents, slower probably but more consistent DSL so I doubt it would make much difference. Edit: Rogers is Cable?

my isp works fine. i get 1 mb upload and 10 mb d/l.
rogers is cable internet. can't get telus where i live.
i think the problem is with there router they sent me.
my dns is the same as my default gateway. when i check the router info it shows my dns as 64.xx.xx.xx and my wan ip is 99.xx.xx.xx
when i set my dns as wanip utorrent works but not the internet and when i use the dns utorrent does't work.

Rogers works great, just not for torrents. You can try setting up things, don't know. Go to Port Forward, find your router, click on it, click on utorrent and follow the instructions: http://www.portforward.com/english/route...routerindex.htm Use this guide for a static address: http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm and you can use these DNS Servers from Open DNS: 208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220 Disable UPnP at options>preferences>connection and also disable randomize port there after you set your port to use.
