Hi everyone. I own a Norcent 2723 27" lcd tv. recently there were several very loud non-speaker pops and the display refused to turn on.

i've ripped it all apart and the only damage i can find is some very small melted points on one of the coiled srw transformers on the power supply circuit board. the transformers state they were made by TDK corp but their site and resellers do not have the part listed.

The video controller is manufactured by NEC and uses a Phillips tv tuner, i do not know the manufacturer of the PSU-PCB. i have found a replacement for 133 bucks, but only the one option from one reseller.

i don't have all the model numbers on hand but can get if it will help anyone that feels like helping me.

My question is this, do i need another tdk transformer? can i use something rated the same?

or rather can i replace the psu pcb with another similar board? i saw one gent remade his monitor with an old atx psu mounted to the back, is that a possibility in my case?

and also can my tv be hooked up to a different brand of video controller? i have access to several 17 flatscreens that no longer function 100% but i assume the vast difference of resolutions, refresh rates, contrast etc will make them incompatible.

I'd appreciate any help greatly. Thanks for reading!
