I bought a 42" Vito 42C6N2. The TV is by far not the greatest. However I got one of these for $170, so it was worth it.
I am trying to use it as a PC monitor using a DVI->HDMI adapter (1080i).
Issue I am having is I am having approx 3% overscan. I can barely see my taskbar (just the top), and my icons in the first row are half gone, the X is gone on a maximized window.
I am using a Crossfire combo the cards are x1950 and a x1900. The 1950 is the master.
The drivers are up to date.
What I have tried:
The scaling option in the Catalyst software - greyed out
Registry hacks for the Catalyst
Tried a DVI to Component adapter
Tried powerstrip (think that's the name)
I did do a custom resolution, this worked great - minus gaming. Not many games I play like using the same res. TF2 crashes when I use it. It boots up fine at 1080i but I can't see my HUD and alot of messages I miss as they are at the bottom of the screen.
When using powerstrip it worked, however if there was any program which changed the resolution, when it changed back, overscan returned and the settings in powerstrip were what they were.
So I am at a loss as to what to do. The TV works awesome for consoles and all (have a 2nd same tv hooked up to my 360 elite, wii and ps3), no issue. I tried swapping the two just to see if it was one, same on both.
Any ideas as to what I can do? I dont care if it's doing a internal mod of the TV.
