hey all i have been wondering about this for a bit now ......will it be a problem to put vista on a mac some say it won't others say ill lose my sound but im still going to try but will there be an issue with the right click....you know the sub menu in windows well if only 1 button how would one get that function.....thanks for any help....and im just a seedling in this apple computer world

To be honest, Macs aren't often the most powerful computers, so you may struggle with Vista, I know XP works on Macs, haven't heard much about Vista.

Nah.. the loss of sound/network is the XP problem.. vista runs too much hardware detection and verification. It will not run on a mac unless it is an Intel mac, and then only in a sort of patchy pirated unstable way.

Stick with what apple installed.. seriously.. they have the right drivers and everything is optimised to work.
If you want shafting with fista go out and buy a preinstalled fista machine... As the mac runs a unix variant (proprietary and sucky) you won't have too much trouble running FreeBSD or similar on it if you want a change... the apple drivers work happily on bsd-unix.

ok thanks i knew right away that there would be issues, and patches needed....but really sucks for me because up till now all my computing experiance is in the windows O/S's and linux.i bought this macbook from a friend and when i turned it on and seen the desktop i didnt know where to go or even where to start looking for things ....this is totaly french to me and then i relized this only had 1 mouse button..LOL kinna funny . but really what my question is now is , it has mac os x on it now and was wondering if theres a linux distro out there that would run good on a newer macbook (black if it makes a diff) like LINUX XP or DREAM LINUX (looks like vista)and im shure this one is an INTELL version ...thanks for any help !
