I have a AMD Athlon XP 2200+ and this is compatable with DDR RAM PC270. I know that much. I want to purchase, if possible, 4gb of RAM. I have opened up my computer tower and can see only 2 memory slots to insert the RAM into. I was wondering whether it is possible to purchase a 2gb DDR RAM stick (not 1gbX2)?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank You.

No, you can only buy 2GB sticks of more modern DDR2 and DDR3 RAM. Older DDR1 that your PC supports is only available in 1GB modules, so the maximum memory your PC can support is 2GB (2x1GB) - depending on the age of the board you also ought to check whether the board can even use 1GB memory modules, as some can't.
