I just bought a new Samsung DVD burner. When I put in a Chinese DVD, it said "your DVD is set to region 1, and you are trying to play a different region DVD. You may change your region so that you can play this DVD. Your are allowed to make 4 changes. You have 3 times left"

How do set my burner to a region free? Please help!

Need more to go on..such as the exact model of the Samsung, then we can see if there is region-free firmware for it..

Thank you Creaky. Actually, the one that I have problem with is "Sony CDRW/DVD CRX330E", the current firmware is MDK3.

Is there any website that I can get an update for the newer firmware?

Can't find too much info on this drive, but have found a few tidbits that could be helpful if it's a rebadged LiteOn drive as this would work - http://dhc014.rpc1.org/LtnRPC/
