Hi all. I am a bit of a newbie and have encountered something I'm not too sure I want to go forward with without a little advice. I would like to have a backup copy of several important trade DVDs that I have purchased. The only thing different from many other DVDs i have ripped in the past is the message I get at the beginning of the DVD. The warning is as follows:

WARNING: This product is CopyProtect encoded. Attempts to duplicate will damage this product and may damage your recording hardware
.

Is there any way around this? Will dvdFAB Decrypter - or something similar - break the encoding without damaging the DVD and/or my PC? Thanks for the help.

Do the DVDs play without smoke coming from your player? Then copying them won't hurt. If the shiny side is purple, they aren't even pressed disks and can be copied with Windows Explorer.

The dvd manufacturer is bluffing

dvdfab decrypter will work just fine

Thanks for the help. I went ahead and tried it and all turned out fine. I thought it probably would, but I didn't want to go forward without at little advice first from someone who knows a bit more about it that I do. Thanks again.
