I have looked at the past threads, but they are older (2005-2006) and I would like to get the current knowledge for my question.

I have been using either the premium 8X Taiyo-Yudens or the 16X Orange and Blue Label Verbatims. I just got an ad for the Taiyo Yuden Silver Thermal Lacquer 8X 4.7GB DVD-R Media (Value Line). I have no experience with the value line, and I want to know how they compare to the premium TY's and how they compare to the Verbatims. The low price has me interested, but I don't want to invest in something that will be problematic. So here I am again, asking my guides to help me make the right choice.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

the Taiyo Yuden valueline are perfectly fine i have used countless value-line though the years with little to no problems. the difference is you don't get the cake boxes (i saved several so i don't need them) plus now and then you might get a bad disc. for the price difference its well worth it. last batch of Taiyo Yuden i bought were 21 cent each for th best media in the world there is no way to go wrong there

Everything ZoSoIV said - Albeit More Concisely and to the point Than I could Have !! - Hey if you've been reading the post on this subject you've probably read some by kivory666- Aka Doc Ty and as I recall he has used the Valuelines with no problems As Have I and countless others !!! And if they're good enough Fer' The Doc Who Am I to argue ? He knows Taiyo Yuden Hence The nickname DoC Ty ( He is a DR. as well ) I hope I quoted The Good Doctor Correctly ? My apologies if not ? I think you'll do Fine with The Valueline Though Verbatim is an excellent brand too !!! Valuelines tend to go onsale or stay relatively the same in price more often Then the verbatims depending on The Vendor of course !
