Hi,

I am trying to back up a dvd with a collection of live performances from various bands, the audio is LPCM and is around 1.5gb in size which means i have to apply 68% compression to the video. Is there any way i can compress the audio into Dolby Digital to save space?

Yes you can turn it into an AC3 using Besweet.
However you'd be nuts. It's in PCM because the quality of the sound is important (it being a music DVD after all) if you compress it it will sound nowhere near as good.

Of course you may not care in which case go for it.

Yeah, dont be compressing an Audio DVD. The video is probably less important. I've had poor results trying Besweet for a similar DVD.

I'm just interested to see what the difference is, anyway, seems that the author of vobinput.dll had removed support for AC3 encoding as it sucked, oh well, the video didn't look that bad anyway once i got it through my tv and not on my pc.
