Hi there,

I've just set up the b*x 3 in the house here in the Cork city area and am wondering about the reception I'm getting/not getting.
At the moment I am receiving santy sports 1, santy golf, sly sports xtra as well as sly premier without any great difficulty. How come I can receive these channels and not much else?( ie. a few music channels, chelski tv and manure tv) One clue is that all the functioning channels are on a frequency of 6875 ksps while the others that are not are on a frequency of 6887 ksps. Ive tried to change these channels to the working frequency but I cant seem to do it.
Ive hooked the decoder up to a basic ch0rus analogue cable connection which normally pipes the bog four into the tv. Also I dont pay a subscription to ch0rus for the basic channels so could this be affecting the reception?
Im pretty much a novice at all this stuff so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
J.

Cork is fully digital now. What firmware are you using and without paying a subscription it will be hard to say what quality your connection is.

Thanks for getting back Sc0user. Not sure exactly what you mean by firmware but the exact make of decoder is:
The B*x Super
API ver: 8.00e_E
Boot ver: 8.0
20 June 2008

Does this sound right?
The channels we have working are crystal clear. While the channels we dont get are listed on the menu but are completely blank with a message saying "no signal". I get all the detail regarding programes and starting times as well so some kind of signal is coming through.

Thanks again,
J.

Flash with 7.09 and do a factory reset and scan on Ch**us. You will find the firmware in Eamos at the end of my post. Dont forget to turn key emu back on. Menu, type 1570 on remote and enable it.

I meant to say to ya sc0user that the fella who got the b*x had it working fully in Galway a couple of weeks ago albeit with N*L rather than ch*rus. Would that not mean that it has already been fully updated?
If not what kind of connection cable do I need to hook my computer up to the b*x with? Would an RS cable do?
Also once I've downloaded firmware how do I transfer it to the box from my computer?

Ta.

Hi Noel ;)

@ Josh, If its already flashed then just do a factory reset and scan on Ch**us. Sorry I thought it was new and you had a problem after flashing it.

Because it came from an N** area it will still have those frequencies. So you need to wipe them with a factory reset and as said scan on your provider.
