I need to downgrade my instalation of windows sp3 to sp2 in order to make some programs work.
The problem is that my windows instalation cd is inclusive of service pack 3 and i cannot find the "package" to remove in "add and remove software".
Any clue how this can be solved? Can I use a SP2 instalation cd with my SP3 licence?
heeeeeelllllppppp
thank you!

Slow down. First things first. Which programs aren't working properly?

First you obviously don't know how to use a computer....it is IMPOSSIBLE to downgrade a service pack on which I'm Assuming your using XP...

the only way to remove service packs is to reformat your system...and for future knowledge...if its not broke, don't fix it...meaning don't install service packs unless you NEED them...

SP3 is supposedly better than SP2. Why do you need to downgrade? What programs don't work?

If you want to follow SRH22's advice and reinstall your system, which can be quite tedious, then yes, as I don't thin licenses are not limited to service packs.

Best Regards :D

Success is relative; the more success the more relatives.
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kickboxing.
To be or not to be; thats a dumb question.

Jeez, it just might be possible that there are many people who don't know how to operate or confugure a computer. Mine is certainly nothing special. Just a garden variety Dell Dimension 2400 with one gig of RAM and Windows XP Home Edition. It came with SP1 and I have updated every critical Microsoft update including SP3 and beyond. I use every single popular program mentioned on Afterdawn for video (burning and editing) and photos including Photoshop CS3 and Paint Shop Pro X2. Not so much as a hiccup and running almost constantly six to eight hours per day. I use nothing but the popular free security apps (even venturing where you're warned not to go), and free disk maintainance utilities routinely (as in daily). I won't lie and say I've never had a problem, but it's always something I've done myself (as in downloading some crappy program). No matter what you may think, the Microsoft Service packs are not the root of your problem.
