Chimp Installation for New HD

I installed Chimp from my Auto-Installer-Deluxe disc so I could try to upgrade my HD. I have a softmod installed.
Anyway before I opened up the xbox I wanted to see that Chimp was installed correctly. I went to Apps and started it but only a blank green screen came up. do i need both drives installed before the program will start or is it a bad install?
i am downloading a newer version of A.I.D. and will try to install again.
Any suggestions?
