I hope that I posted this thread in the right section '^^

But I got a really strange (and irritating problem)

Let's start with my equipment.

Dell latitude D520
2 GB ram
1,66GHz Intel Core T5500

Net at home
Wireless belkin 54G (F5D7230au4)
3G

Net at school
Wireless 54G don't know the brand

Net browser
Firefox
Internet explorer

So here's my problem. I got my dell laptop from my school and I use both at home and at school. At home I both surf wirelessly, with wire and 3G and everything works just great.

And here's my strange problem. When I'm a school and trying to download/load big files the net randomly disconnects. Not, like disconnecting from the wireless but just from the site/server.

Example, watching youtube, at first the movie starts loading after 20-30 seconds it stops and won't start again until reloading the page.

Another exampel, when I download a file. It starts just fine and then suddenly just stops.

Does anyone know how to solve this annoying problem?

Best regards and thanks in advance Richard

Chances are its just the limitation of the wireless network you are using.
There is only a limited bandwidth available, and you will be knocking it big time with large data downloads, the network will probably see you as a potential threat and knock your session off to protect itself.
Not much you can do about that other than wait until no-one else is using the network or get a fixed IP address and have the network admib set your account for special rights (unlikely).
What you are seeing is normal network behavior not a fault.

Nope, I forgot to mention but everyone else can enjoy dloading big files and watching youtube. It's just me and another guy that got this problem.

Another thing that I also forgot to mention (it just reappeared in my mind) is when I once tried to hook up my laptop to a dock (wired network) it worked fine. So the problem must be in the wireless net.

But where? And can I fix it?

Anyway thanks for your answer :D

Best regards Richard
