Do note that although many stations are broadcasting over the UHF band, next year when analog disappears some will be returning to VHF channels. Do not make the mistake of getting a UHF only antenna.

Also note that the new boxes you will need if you have no cable/satellite, do NOT do a very good job of receiving. I tried one at my office and it could get the UHF channels but not the VHF. Even with the rabbit ears outside it failed. The broadcasting antennae are no more than 25 miles away. Come Feb, there will be a lot of pi$$ed off people! JM2C

Hi, A friend of mine has three tvs, two older on rabbit ears, one(plasma)a couple of years old just used for dvds. He's looking to combine all sets with a splitter using the output from the converter box. Probably need an amplifier, new hi-gain antenna(how are those things that look like a square ping-pong paddle?)assorted wiring. Since I know which end of a screw driver to hold I've been elected project manager. I could use some good counsel from anyone who's had success as to parts and procedures for this type of project. Thanks, xerby

As far as antenna choice this is a good place to start.

Hi, thanks. Plenty of good ideas and solutions. The vhf tiger was waiting to jump on me. That hand made ant. would have done the job, however, no access to attic. Used to roll my own fm ants back in the days when home built was hot. The user website is going to be most handy in Phoenix AZ where my friend lives about 25 miles to South Mountain. Then I'll be next tho I have cable I still like to mess around with ota. I'm about 50 miles from So. Mtn. here at Sun City West. Thanks again, xerby
