Im not sure if this is the right place for this but its the only place i could find that talked about cd's and stuff. So heres my problem, I have a cd player sitting on top of my radio, and whenever i turn it on and push play the first bar on the antishock meter comes up and the track plays for 2 seconds then the bar goes away and it stops playing. Hitting skip doesnt do anything for me. Is there a way to fix this, there probaly isnt a way to bypass it seeing as antishock is like memory, so can i change my antishock unit? Or i am just talking about something i know nothing about?

This is as good a spot as any in AD. Unfortunatly, fixing CD players is like fixing TVs. You don't. If this is happening for all CDs you might need to get a new one. Did this just happen? If so what preceded the problems? Could the unit be out of level?

The CD player had sat in a drawer for a while b4 this, and maybe it was out of level...cuz i dont know what that means

It's been sat for a long time?.. Try cleaning the rails the laser head runs on.. check that it is free to move on the worm gear and lube the rails and worm drive with literally 2 drops of light oil from a matchstick. (sewing machine or pushbike)

Clean the lens.. though that's probably not an issue as it's trying to read.

I think the tracking assembly is stiff or stuck.. and that's what the antishock meter is complaining about :)

Your CD is wobbling/vibrating too much to play right. I did not know it had sat around for a while in a drawer. Lubercation sounds more likely solution than a level problem. Some CD players can play in any position but some can't. Some need to be somewhat level. My wife's radio top would not provide a level surface and that is what poped into my mind when you mentioned it was sitting on top of your radio.
