Hi,
I burnt a ps2 game on an empty DVD-R using DVDecrypter but it wont start when i insert it in my PS2.The 'PlayStation 2' logo appears but nothing after that.I have the mod chip installed but still...
Also i used a low quality DVD-R,Is it 1 of da reasons??
Please any1 tell me what's the problem.

That could be.

What Modchip do you have installed?
What speed did you burn it at?
What brand of disc is it?

I use Sony DVD-R all the time with no problems.
Verbatim, Taiyo-Yuden are about the best out there.

Don't burn lower than 4x ever for PS2. Sure some games might work, but most won't.

I personally burn all DVD-R at 4x speed using imgburn. I have never had a problem yet.

There are a lot of people who are burning at 8x and up and say they have no problems. If their discs are 16x and up then that shouldn't be a problem.

The only other backups that are burned at a different speed are DVD9 games, they need to be burned on Verbatim DL DVD+R at 2.4x speed.

I've had no problem's with backups burned at 2X and i've been making BU's for years.
Except maybe 2 games now that needed a patch or rebuild.
So i would not say "most" won't.

I think you mean DL DVD+R not -R ;)

You are correct that is what I meant and typed it wrong.

Thanks for noting that, it does make quite a difference.

My point really about burning under 4x is there is no need for it. 4x is slow enough.
I have burned backups for long time too and I have never had an issue with any of mine burned at 4x.
