Why can't you take out the battery?

Is there any option of a one time boot menu? Like F12 with Dells?

Most motherboards have a "jumper" which you can remove to reset the bios password. it could be anywhere on the board, but all the ones i've ever seen have been close to the battery, andit will probably say something like pswrd on the board next to it. Remove the jumper, and boot the machine. The password should be removed (ie there will be no password set).
You can then shut the machine down, replace the jumper, and reset the password to anything you like.

See HERE for more info.

depending on the model, there may be a "backdoor" password. We had some dell's at work, and ith think. the backdoor password was simply "dell", or "Dell" (not sure if CAPS matter with bios passwords).

If that doesnt work, just open it up when your boss is away/not looking...it will only take a second to remove the jumper ;)

Your boss is crazy, what would he rather have a pc that sits there and does nothing or let you open the case and take a battery out for a minute and put it back in...
