I am interested in getting a laptop and aircard but would like to see what kind of speeds I can get in my area. Currently I can only get ATT EDGE and thought the best way to try it would be to get and Aircard and try it with my desktop, before I shell money out for a laptop.

Is it possible to use an aircard with a desktop and if so, how?

Right now I only have dial up and connect at 50.6 kbps so anything at or above that would be an upgrade.
