I was just digging around my basement when I came across my old Playstation one console. I heard some years ago that it is possible to play backup copies of your discs with some modding, is this true. I know this is probably ancient history to you guys, but I am very new to this whole idea of playing backups - many of my games are almost completely scratched, like Metal Gear Solid, which sometimes won't play. Thanks for any help you guys can give, and at the very least please try and link me to sources that explain how to do this (if possible)

8 years too late.. all the sites are gone..

Find an action replay unit and disk is your best bet.. boot sales.. junk shops. that kind of place. Chips are possible to get.. IF you buy 50 at a time.

ps1 emulators for pc are mature and working well..
