Would getting a notebook drive (2.5??) be more reliable than a desktop, in terms of g-force/vibration protection? I would think(and thought I've read) that the notebook drives have more of that protection built in, obviously due to their intended use.

Also since they are smaller (again, are they all 2.5??) they should give off less heat, furthering their reliability, agree?

The only downside I can see would be limited storage compared to the 3.5's.

Ideas? Thanks

3.5" drives are larger and cheaper, but as far as I know there is no USB-powered enclosure for drives that large. I have one of each but I tend to use my 2.5" external drive far more often as I don't need a wall socket to power it, just two open USB slots on the computer.
