I am still very new to the NDS cart system of things. I want to be able to play my MP3s, view images, watch movies, and use homebrew, both old and new on my DS. I also want the ability to play GBA images. I understand that there are pros and cons to both Slot 1 and Slot 2 carts. What I want is a relatively low-cost solution to where I can have it all, or in the very least, excellent compatibility. I also want to be able to play Pokemon Diamond/Pearl and be able to get my Pokemon from my Leaf Green and Emerald cartridges.

I have looked at the M3DS Real, and I was curious if the GBA expansion cart would enable me to utilize the Slot 1 AND enable me to play GBA images.

The EZ-Flash certainly does look like a good product. I wish they would have given more examples like they did in the M3DS and CycloDS reviews. But in the very least it does have GBA support. I did not understand a couple parts of it such as...

*How well does it support GBA roms?
*Does the GBA-linkage work well? Will it work for Pokemon Diamond/Pearl?

It would have been nice of them to list the pros and cons in the conclusion. Otherwise, it does look like a solid product. I will definitely keep it in mind for whenever I can afford to make the purchase of a cart.

were you loooking at this review http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=95124 ? theres a ROM Compatibilty list, says works with Pokemon: Diamond (soft reset disabled)

quote from gbatemp review :
Slot-2 GBA support
The EZ FLASH 3in1 is officially supported by the EZ FLASH V Plus. There is no need to use any other tools to make GBA roms work with the card. You just run the GBA roms in the kernal and it will give you the option to flash the rom to the slot-2 card. Any rom that was already flashed and stayed on the card will get deleted and would export its save to a "GBASAVE" folder of the MicroSD card before getting deleted. I was able to use all the three features of the slot-2 card. without any extra tools and with minimum hassles. The GBA games once flashed to the slot-2 card could be started by keeping the L button pressed while loading the EZ V Plus Kernal and then pressing the A button Another way to run the flashed GBA rom is from the main DS menu, which I think would be the easiest way to do it.

Well then, I think my mind is set on the EZ-Flash. Thank you guys for your help and suggestions. Now all I have to do is wait for Friday's paycheck.

OK, since you appear to be a Pokemaniac, please allow me to identify the ONE issue that might be a "show stopper".

The EZ V will NOT talk to a Wii. If you play PBR or My Pokemon Channel on the Wii you WILL NOT be able to transfer Pokemon to the Wii with an EZ V.

AFAIK, the G6Real and the CycloDS are the ONLY slot-1 carts that will talk to the Wii.

Now, having said that, I have not tried it with R4 or EZ V recently, so I don't know if recently upgraded firmware will fix this issue, but it was consensus opinion at the time that some Flashcart makers weren't going to fix this "corner case" application.

BTW, I can verify that EZ V and EZ 3-in-1 will allow transfer of Pokemon from FR, LG, E, S, and R GBA carts to D/P

Thanks for the heads up on that factor. The Wii thing isn't a big deal. I only like the original Pokemon games for the handhelds, and I don't even have a Wii so it's not a big issue for me. So long as it will communicate with another DS for trading purpposes then I'm pretty much fine with it. And if it can communicate with WiFi, then I'll just consider that a bonus. Still though, thank you for taking note of that as it probably is considered an issue for some people.
